Eligibility Criteria for Distance PG
Courses
The candidate must have completed 15 years of academic education in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern.
The student must
have studied at least one subject in Mathematics to be eligible for distance
MCA programme.
Admission Process for PG Courses
The admission into PG courses is based on the score in qualifying entrance examination and also percentage in degree. The admission will be given to the students on a first-come-first-served basis.
The students can get the application forms by post from the Registrar by paying Rs 400/-. The application form costs Rs 200/- for SC and ST candidates.
The student has to draw a DD in favour of Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore and enclose it with an attested copy of caste certificate (if any). The envelope must be stamped with Rs 60 and self-addressed.
The counselling and selection process for distance MBA and distance MCA programmes is done by Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. The admission is based on the marks scored in TANCET or Bharathiar University Entrance Test.
The candidates who
are in the final semester of undergraduate and about the complete their degree
can also apply for admission into distance MBA or MCA or any other PG programme
in Bharathiar University. They will be provided with a provisional admission
based on their score in the entrance examination. The admissions get confirmed
once they complete their undergraduate and produce the photocopy of degree
certificate at the study centre.
Entrance Test
The Bharathiar University Entrance Test for distance MCA is an objective type exam and generally, it is computer-based. The question paper will have 100 objective questions and it is divided into 5 sections. 25% for Logical Reasoning, 25% for Quantitative Ability, 25% for Analytical Reasoning, 10% for Communication Ability and 15% for Computer Awareness. The students have marked the right answer out of the 4 options. There is no negative marking.
