Google's initiative to work with EDx to promote MOOCs system globally is working out really well. Now Indian universities has also started adopting the MOOC system. Last year we have seen that Amity started some MOOC courses in India and after that British Council also launched English language MOOC courses in India. Now we have another good news for aspiring engineering students. Recently IITs in partnership with Google and Nasscom have launched online MOOC courses. The online courses are a part of joint initiative by IITs and IISc, called NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning).
IIT Distance Education MOOCs

If we believe on a news published on the website of a leading news paper in India, the initiative can help over four million engineering students to pursue online education.

Using the program a large number of students can take the course at one time. Students will get an access to online study material that includes video, text material, problem sets etc. The system provide an interactive platform to students & professors both to interact each other. It is a new form of online education. Now people from all area will get an equal chance to learn from India's top faculty members.

The aim behind launching such programmes is to make such courses available to the masses which are job ready and IT-Industry ready so that more people can get a chance to get admission in courses which can get them a job.

Now the new library which has been put on NPTEL website is more interactive and people are loving it. We've received some positive response from the students about the library. The best part of this library is that all the courses which has been uploaded are industry specific and students who will take these courses has a higher chance to crack an interview of their industry.
