Check DEC Approval Before Taking Admission Into Any Distance Education Course

DEC
Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, the epic body to promote & coordinate distance education system in India has alert students seeking admission into distance education courses. As per a latest article published in Times Of India website, DEC has said into one of it's press release that certain universities/ institutions are giving misleading advertisements in the newspapers and through other media for admission in programmes through distance mode indicating that they have approval of the DEC for various programmes .

We've already published two such cases i.e High Court restriction on Punjab Technical University & Sikkim Manipal University approval renewal case on our blog.

As we all know that to run any distance education course in India, approval from distance education council is must. In the absence of DEC approval, qualifications acquired through distance mode shall not be treated recognized for the purpose of employment under Central Government.

Apart from the University recognition, you should check the following things before enrolling into any distance education course in India.

If you're keen to take admission into any University which approval is due for renewal, we'll advice you to wait until the renewal not take place. Avoid taking admission through study centers until you're not sure about their credibility.
